Faithful Volunteers
Cemetery Volunteers & Memorial to the Unborn Victims of Abortion

The mostly unseen work of  Renee Springer, Thomas and Mary Palya, Linda Zungri, Bobbi Skovera and Gerry Dorobish is greatly appreciated.  Early in the hot, humid mornings of the summer, one or more of these volunteers have already weeded, watered and trimed flowers throughout the Cemetery and Mausoleum grounds.  Often the late evenings find Mr. Palya moving steadily around the perimeters of the Mausoleum. altars, and the pond area.   Their season starts as soon as the first seedlings pop up and ends when these same grown plants "let go" and return to the earth in late Fall.  Each year they actually express sadnesss that their work is over until the next season.  Their love for Mt. St. Macrina is evident and is symbolic of so many volunteers who throughout the years  have given their time so generously to keep it beautiful and sacred.

This Memorial was installed and dedicated to the Unborn Children in 2017 by the local Knights of Columbus, Local Chapter #1275.  While not officially a part of the Cemetery, it is indeed in spirit.  Representing the Knights Council, Mr. Thomas Palya, along with his wife, Mary Jewell, have lovingly maintained and beautified this little shrine througout the year.   The Knights of Columbus continue to graciously help support the Memorial's maintenance.

For several seasons, Mr. Palya can be found anywhere on the grounds with his headphones and weed whacker!
